Leave application
Please remember that any leave you wish to take must be pre-approved by your key coordinator using a Just Better Care leave form. Fill out a leave form on the Intranet and lodge it with your Key Coordinator.
You cannot request time off over Mobile Me. The leave form process ensures that all your services are covered while you are away. Please provide enough notice to your key Coordinator – at least 2 weeks – to allow head office staff to arrange another support professional to cover your shifts.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Marina Abdel-Messih (Human Resource Assistant) at any time on 9669 1965

Mobile Me UPDATE
This is an important reminder regarding the use of Mobile Me. We are still experiencing some technical issues with the App. If you are active on Mobile Me, and you suspect the App is not performing properly, please contact Marina at the office straight away. Immediately switch to timesheets for that particular service because if you do not use timesheets and your App is not working – we cannot prove you have attended the shift therefore you may not be paid for that service.
Ensure your availability is current
Can all Care Professionals in the field please make sure your availability is regularly updated. If you have indicated that you are available, clients can and will be added to your roster without consultation by a coordinator. So, it is your responsibility to check your roster daily for new services. Please be mindful that ‘hand backs’ on the day are not acceptable and there may be repercussions. Also, if you have any medical appointments please let us know ASAP.
Mobile Me UPDATE
Mobile Me has been slowly rolled out over the past few months, with a lot of dedication from JBC’s Care Professionals and from the trainers. I am excited to report that we have now reached an enormous 60 Care Professionals on the App!
Thank you to everyone who participated, for your valuable involvement in trialling our new App – we could not have done it without your time, positive attitude and feedback. As a team, we continue to fine-tune the App and we are ironing out a few niggling issues. We trust that these will be resolved as soon as possible.

Welcome new staff
I would like to introduce two new staff members to the Just Better Care team:
Marina Abdel-Mesih, Human Resources Administrator, joined us in May 2014 and is implementing a number of the HR initiatives with me. Marina also supports the Coordination teams.
Rosie Lumello, Coordinator, joined us recently and is working with Marina and I.
Mobility Options App
Our new smart phone App allows staff to complete timesheets, in real time, on the go from mobile devices. We love this technology and eagerly await feedback from current staff trials. Stay tuned!
Time is Important
So far the App has highlighted the need for staff to work rostered hours. Specifically, start on time, finish on time and work the FULL duration.
If a client requests you to leave a shift early or stay later, you must always obtain approval from your Coordinator. If you are running late for a shift, you must advise your Coordinator who, in turn, can advise the client or case manager. If you are having difficulties with your roster, please speak with your Coordinator.
Paper Timesheets
For those of you still using paper timesheets please remember that a separate timesheet is required for each client. Make sure times are accurate.
A Big Thank You
To all Community Care Professionals for being so patient and helpful as we moved to the new server. Now access to rosters and the intranet should be much easier. Note: please ensure you log on every day after 5.30 pm to check the roster for changes to your next shift.
Work, Health and Safety (WH&S)
Your safety is always important to us. Slow down, don’t rush. Before the start of every shift, take a few minutes to think about the role you are about to perform. Always be aware of your surroundings and make sure you are properly dressed for your shift.
Closed in shoes must always be worn.
Thanks, Penny.
